Manager, Maintenance (Cannabis Facilities)

Location: Pemberton, BC, Canada; on-site work in office and production environments with frequent site inspections, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours response as required.

Salary: CAD 90,000–110,000 annually to start.

What you will do

• Manage facility infrastructure, utilities, equipment, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency response programs at the Alpine facility.
• Develop asset lifecycle plans, capital requirements, maintenance budgets, forecasts, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Oversee HVAC, dehumidification and humidification, CO₂, airflow, pressure differentials, electrical systems, backup power, water, irrigation, fire protection, and security systems.
• Ensure maintenance activities, equipment qualification, calibration, documentation, deviations, investigations, and CAPAs meet Cannabis Regulations, GMP/GPP, quality, and safety requirements.
• Lead internal maintenance staff and coordinate contractors, vendors, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Cultivation, Quality, and HSE.
• Track maintenance KPIs, equipment uptime, environmental excursions, repeat failures, response times, audit findings, risks, and operational priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of facility management experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial role, preferably in manufacturing or an industrial environment.
• Experience managing large-scale facilities, maintenance programs, utilities, asset lifecycles, budgets, vendors, and contracts.
• Knowledge of regulated environments, facility systems, risk management, preventive maintenance, and maintenance documentation; GMP experience is an asset.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS.
• Comfort working in production areas with cannabis and plant-material exposure, PPE requirements, noise, dust, temperatures of 20–32°C, walking, standing, stairs, and occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 lb.
