Machinist IV - 2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, New York, United States

Salary: $37.00–$41.00 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential for second- and third-shift employees. A $3,500 sign-on bonus may be available under the stated application and bonus-agreement terms.

What you will do

• Perform precision machining and CNC programming on CAM systems to create, repair, and modify complex parts, fixtures, tooling, sub-assemblies, and assemblies.
• Plan jobs, develop fixturing and layouts, and work with a wide range of materials.
• Hold very tight tolerances of approximately 0.0001–0.0002 inches.
• Inspect completed work and maintain responsibility for product quality.
• Collaborate with design draftsmen and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical issues, unusual conditions, and defective materials.
• Make technical decisions about setups, tooling, fixturing, and inspection methods when detailed instructions are not available.

Requirements

• Six years of experience as a diversified machinist.
• Experience with precision machining, CNC programming, CAM systems, and G and M codes.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer-based work instructions or training in English.
• Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

• Previous CAD/CAM experience.
