Machinist I (CNC)

Location: Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, United States; on-site. Weekday shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Due to ITAR regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with refugee or asylee status. Temporary visa holders are not eligible.

Salary: $26–$30 per hour. External applicants may be eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC milling and lathe machines for prototype and production jobs.
• Prepare CAM files from CAD files, technical drawings, and verbal instructions using Mastercam and related tools.
• Inspect completed parts with measuring instruments and make decisions about quality requirements.
• Maintain job organization, material inventory, machines, and shop equipment, including operator preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot recurring machining and production issues while supporting continuous improvement and productivity.
• Follow quality and safety standards and coordinate work to achieve timely delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating CNC milling or lathe machines, including setup and some programming knowledge, is preferred.
• Knowledge of machining in a prototype manufacturing environment or related education and experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Mastercam, and CAD/CAM tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, use protractors, calipers, and height gauges, and interpret written and statistical data.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and time-management skills; ability to lift or move 50+ pounds.
