TL;DR
Special Agent (Police) (Railway Security): Protecting railroad assets, personnel, property, and high-value shipments through investigations, arrests, emergency response, and crime-prevention patrols with an accent on law enforcement, railroad operations, and critical-event leadership. Focus on conducting sensitive criminal investigations, coordinating responses to railroad emergencies, supervising security personnel, and maintaining security across rail facilities and trains.

Location: El Paso, TX; must live or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of the assigned work location. Some travel is required. Training takes place at the corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX and onsite at the assigned location.

Salary: $84,645–$94,500 per year

What you will do

  • Protect company assets, personnel, railroad property, and customer property.
  • Conduct sensitive corporate and criminal investigations, prepare detailed reports, and provide court testimony when required.
  • Identify and handle trespassers, make arrests when appropriate, and patrol railroad facilities, property, and trains.
  • Advise company officials on crime and accident prevention and coordinate responses to railroad emergencies.
  • Supervise contract security guards and train employees on relevant security matters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 18 months of successful full-time peace officer experience.
  • Completion of basic police training at a recognized state-certified academy.
  • Must meet Texas peace officer commissioning standards, hold and maintain a valid state peace officer license, and satisfy BNSF Special Agent standards.
  • Valid driver's license, willingness to travel, and ability to use company systems for reports and databases.
  • Physical and psychological fitness, successful background investigation, company evaluations, drug screening, medical review, and required training.
  • Broad knowledge of railroad operations, emergency situations, criminal law, and procedures, with the ability to lead during stressful critical events.
