Company

hirify.global develops AI-enabled radar and sensing systems that combine advanced radar, edge computing, and AI for situational awareness in challenging environments.

What you will do

  • Design and develop mechanical components and electro-mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools.
  • Create and modify machined parts, sheet-metal components, fastener-based assemblies, and additively manufactured parts.
  • Build, integrate, and test prototype hardware and multi-module radar systems in laboratory and field environments.
  • Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues and collaborate with electrical, firmware, and systems engineers on resolutions.
  • Develop assembly procedures, build instructions, wiring documentation, and other hardware documentation.
  • Support component selection, procurement, inventory, product testing, customer demonstrations, and field deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–3 years of relevant professional, internship, co-op, or substantial hands-on project experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks, and the ability to create and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with drills, saws, hand tools, multimeters, and soldering equipment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical tolerances, fasteners, materials, assembly practices, wiring, soldering, and component-level diagnosis.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and may need to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience creating part drawings with GD&T practices consistent with ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or other fast-turn fabrication methods.
  • Experience with radar, sensing systems, ruggedized electronics, or integrated electro-mechanical products.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and hardware-system test methods.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on individual-contributor work focused on turning designs into reliable physical products.
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and systems engineering.
  • Work spans prototype development, system integration, laboratory testing, field use, and customer demonstrations.
  • Participation in real-world deployments with limited travel to the Illinois site.
