Quality Assurance Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Bracknell, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £27,000–£37,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

What you will do

• Plan and carry out manual, regression, exploratory, web, desktop, and API testing.
• Investigate, reproduce, document, and communicate defects with clear actionable information.
• Review requirements and acceptance criteria to create appropriate test scenarios and maintain accurate QA documentation.
• Work with developers, product owners, and technology colleagues to resolve issues and improve product quality.
• Contribute to C#/.NET bug fixes, smaller development changes, unit tests, and code reviews.
• Assist with introducing and maintaining automated testing as technical responsibilities develop.

Requirements

• Some practical knowledge or experience of software testing, including test scenarios, test cases, defect management, and regression testing.
• Methodical and analytical approach with strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate unusual behaviour and edge cases.
• Understanding of programming and object-oriented concepts, relational databases, client/server architecture, APIs, and REST/SOAP services.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML, and core software development concepts.
• Degree-level education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Clear communication skills and an interest in developing a long-term career in QA and software development.

Nice to have

• ISTQB Foundation certification or another recognised QA qualification.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, Selenium, Playwright, Postman, or Swagger.
• Exposure to C#/.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, SQL, and unit testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
• Understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
