Test Engineer (Data)

Location: Hybrid; based in one of the listed locations: Harwell, UK; Barcelona, Spain; Athens, Greece; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mallorca, Spain; Porto, Portugal; or Tenerife, Spain. Legal right to work in the chosen location is required.

What you will do

• Define and implement testing strategies across platform features and releases.
• Design, build, and maintain automated tests for frontend and backend systems, web UIs, and APIs.
• Perform manual, exploratory, integration, regression, and system testing across user journeys and edge cases.
• Validate data flows, transformations, outputs, data integrity, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on acceptance criteria and test coverage.
• Investigate defects across UI, API, and data layers, support CI/CD pipelines, and improve testing practices and documentation.

Requirements

• Experience designing reliable and repeatable tests using manual and automated approaches.
• Ability to build automated tests for web UIs and APIs using modern testing frameworks.
• Understanding of API-driven systems and client-server architectures.
• Ability to validate data integrity, transformations, and outputs in data platforms.
• Awareness of CI/CD practices and testing within release pipelines.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a collaborative, pragmatic approach.
