Staff Engineer, Quality Assurance (AI)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; on-site, including operational testing on flights in and around Melbourne

What you will do

• Develop and execute test cases, regression tests, and automated tests across the software development lifecycle.
• Verify product performance goals, project requirements, and software release approval criteria.
• Document testing activities and maintain release approval matrices.
• Prepare test environments by configuring hardware, flashing devices, installing software, and executing integration and operational tests.
• Collaborate with software engineering and hardware teams to improve software design, testing processes, and quality outcomes.
• Perform operational testing on flights in and around Melbourne and communicate schedule risks or failures promptly.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent overseas qualification.
• Experience with cross-platform testing on Windows and Linux.
• Proficiency in setting up and managing test environments and operating systems.
• Ability to analyse and solve complex software engineering problems independently and collaboratively.
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment and contributing to automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of fault-tracking systems and ability to work to project schedules.

Nice to have

• ISTQB accreditation.
• Experience with automated testing tools.
• Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing experience.
• Experience testing and validating real-time embedded software systems.
