Import Analyst

Location: East Syracuse, NY; Ashburn, VA; Auburn Hills, MI; Bristol, RI; Cranston, RI; Grayling, MI; Orlando, FL; Quincy, MA; Washington, DC; or West Lafayette, IN. Travel: 5–10% domestically and potentially internationally. Candidates must be U.S. persons and must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals.

Salary: $64,600–$80,700 in East Syracuse, Auburn Hills, Grayling, Orlando, and West Lafayette; $71,000–$88,800 in Bristol and Cranston; $77,400–$96,800 in Ashburn, Quincy, and Washington, D.C.

What you will do

• Build, improve, and operate the U.S. import control framework, including entry review, exception handling, and CBP inquiries.
• Review import entry packets and resolve classification, valuation, origin, and documentation issues before broker filing.
• Draft and implement import policies and procedures covering clearance, Temporary Import Bonds, carnets, DSP-61 licenses, permanent imports, Duty-Free Entry, broker engagement, and recordkeeping.
• Maintain HTS classifications, track items in internal systems, and coordinate ECCN and USML questions with the export team.
• Manage Duty-Free Entry, temporary import authorizations, ACE import support, customs bonds, broker relationships, and compliance KPIs.
• Develop durable records and repeatable processes in SharePoint, OCR EASE, or equivalent systems, and assess sites against import requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, or a related field with 3+ years of U.S. import/customs operations or import compliance experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 1+ year of experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Working knowledge of CBP entry procedures, HTS classification, broker filing, and import documentation.
• Understanding of export-control topics including DSP-61, TIB, carnets, and ITAR, with the ability to identify and escalate issues.
• Experience writing or improving procedures, playbooks, SharePoint sites, or trackers used by others.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working in ACE, GTM tools, and internal systems.
• Must be a U.S. person and may need to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; access to export-controlled technical data may be required.

• Existing security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience working with foreign entities and cross-cultural stakeholders.
• Interest in pursuing the Customs Broker License exam with company support.
