Project Engineer (General Safety, Product Safety & NRTL Certification)

Location: Suwanee, Georgia, USA; onsite role with up to 10–15% business travel

Salary: USD 75,000–90,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the technical delivery of multiple product safety certification projects and support Project Managers in meeting deadlines.
• Act as the technical contact for clients, provide milestone updates, lead technical meetings, and prepare client-facing reports.
• Review product construction against applicable UL and IEC safety standards, including UL 62368-1, UL 60730-1, IEC 61010-1, UL 508, and UL 61800-5-1.
• Author and review Test Report Forms, Construction Data Forms, compliance correspondence, position letters, and technical justifications.
• Develop construction, electrical, and mechanical safety test plans and review test data produced by laboratory technicians.
• Support certification proposals, RFQ scoping, and factory or field follow-up inspections.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in product safety testing, compliance engineering, NRTL/TIC laboratories, R&D, or verification and validation.
• Working familiarity with at least three relevant UL or IEC standards and an understanding of NRTL certification and CB Scheme documentation.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation such as dielectric testers, ground bond testers, thermocouples, leakage current testers, oscilloscopes, and mechanical test equipment.
• Strong technical writing, communication, organization, and time-management skills; Microsoft Office experience required.
• Must be able to work onsite in Suwanee, Georgia, USA and travel up to 10–15%.

Nice to have

• Experience with IEC 60601-1.
• Additional practical experience in product safety or certification engineering.
