Safety Specialist II (Electrical T&D Construction)

Location: Marshalltown, Iowa; onsite work at company-designated office or field locations with travel to project worksites.

Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year, paid weekly and commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Conduct accident and injury investigations, root cause analyses, incident documentation, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Visit project sites to observe safety behaviors and work conditions, perform PPE hazard assessments, and document findings.
• Partner with operations leadership to create site-specific safety plans, review job hazard analyses, and participate in project meetings.
• Ensure alignment with client safety programs, company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable environmental and occupational health regulations.
• Coordinate and facilitate new-hire, OSHA, customer-required, and post-incident training.
• Coach and mentor project personnel and lower-level safety professionals while supporting safety committees and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles.
• High school diploma or GED required; relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of an undergraduate degree.
• Documented experience with OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, and Method of Procedure writing.
• Advanced knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental and occupational safety regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, relationship-building, and independent-work skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer; visa sponsorship is not available. Ability to travel to project sites for extended periods is required.

Nice to have

• Safety certification such as CSHO, CHST, SMS, SSH, or CSP.
• Undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
