Project Manager (Heavy Civil Infrastructure)

Location: New York, New York, United States

Salary: $115,000–$210,000 per year ($55–$101 per hour)

What you will do

• Lead assigned projects or task orders from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Manage scope, budget, schedule, risk, cost forecasts, CPM schedule updates, and earned value reporting.
• Oversee designers and contractors, administer construction contracts, and manage submittals, requests for information, progress payments, and time-extension requests.
• Evaluate change proposals and claims for entitlement, cost impact, and schedule impact, and recommend positions to program leadership.
• Coordinate agencies, utility owners, railroads, adjacent contracts, and other third parties while maintaining existing operations during construction staging.
• Oversee quality and safety compliance, operational readiness, and transition of completed facilities to maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, construction engineering, engineering management, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 10+ years of project management experience on large, complex, heavy-civil infrastructure projects, including projects exceeding $500 million.
• Experience managing capital projects from design through construction and closeout, including scope, budget, schedule, and risk.
• Knowledge of construction contract administration, change management, progress payments, and coordination with designers, contractors, agencies, utilities, and other third parties.
• Experience with project or construction management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Unifier, or Kahua.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, construction engineering, or engineering management.
• Active PMP, CCM, PE, or similar professional certifications and licenses.
• Experience managing owner-side contract packages exceeding $100 million or multiple packages within programs exceeding $1 billion.
• Experience negotiating contractor changes and claims or supervising and mentoring project managers, engineers, and controls staff.
• Experience with Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or other KPI dashboard software.
