Construction Project Manager

Location: Long Island City, Queens, NY; in-person position with regular interaction at construction sites throughout New York City

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 annually

Established construction firm specializing in high-end construction projects throughout New York City, with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, client service, and precise project delivery.

What you will do

• Manage assigned construction projects from pre-construction through completion, coordinating budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, documentation, and client communication.
• Track project costs, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, subcontractor invoices, and financial reports.
• Lead subcontractor buyout, contract negotiations, change orders, and cost-control activities.
• Develop project schedules, coordinate long-lead materials, monitor progress, and resolve potential roadblocks with the Site Superintendent.
• Coordinate clients, owners, architects, designers, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors while leading project meetings and resolving issues.
• Oversee RFIs, submittals, approvals, permits, inspections, punch-list completion, warranties, O&M manuals, and final contract closeout.

Requirements

• 6+ years of construction project management experience.
• NYC construction experience and experience managing high-end interior construction projects are required.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, budgets, scheduling, procurement, change orders, forecasting, and cost control.
• Experience managing subcontractors and collaborating with architects, designers, consultants, clients, and project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with construction management and project scheduling software; strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in a general contracting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Procore and/or MS Project experience.
