Underground Superintendent (Electric Utility Construction)

Location: Conroe to Beaumont, Texas; primarily field-based at active construction sites

Salary: $56–$60 per hour

What you will do

• Lead field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and equipment resources on underground utility projects.
• Plan and oversee underground electric distribution work, including conduit installation, duct banks, cable placement, directional drilling, trenching, restoration, and related activities.
• Monitor schedules, labor productivity, equipment utilization, project costs, and resource allocation.
• Drive safety, conduct job briefings and inspections, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA and client requirements.
• Verify construction quality, maintain field documentation, coordinate testing and inspections, and support project closeout.
• Represent the project in discussions with customers, inspectors, utility personnel, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8–10 years of underground utility construction experience and 3–5 years of superintendent, general foreman, or equivalent supervisory experience.
• Extensive knowledge of underground electric distribution, conduit installation, cable placement, directional drilling, trenching, and restoration.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, utility construction safety practices, construction drawings, specifications, and utility standards.
• Experience managing multiple crews, subcontractors, and concurrent projects; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to work outdoors, travel, work extended hours, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Journeyman Lineman or related utility certification.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience with electric utility distribution construction, utility locating, traffic control, and permitting.
