Electrical Construction Helper

Location: Alhambra, California, US; on-site at an SCE facility or field location. The position requires up to 80% travel throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $40.53–$46.27 per hour

What you will do

• Assist journeymen construction electricians with substation construction and retrofitting.
• Pull control, power, and lighting wiring into conduit.
• Unload and install transformers, regulators, circuit breakers, and other heavy electrical equipment.
• Assemble pull boxes and prefabricated steel, and install structural and equipment grounding.
• Cut, thread, and bend pipe and conduit; dig trenches and excavate for conduit.
• Follow Edison safety protocols and protect company assets and sensitive information.

Requirements

• At least one year of construction experience.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Ability to work on-site and travel extensively throughout the SCE service territory.
• Ability to pass the required Personnel Risk Assessment or background investigation for the NERC/CIP impacted position.
• Successful completion of required testing, including the EEI CAST Test and Electrical Construction Helper Physical Performance Test.

Nice to have

• Experience or training with transformers, motors, starters, wiring, circuits, and other electrical apparatus.
• Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, or manlifts.
• Knowledge of electrical principles and safe work around energized equipment.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
