Company

hirify.global supports large, complex transit capital programs and maintains a talent pool for upcoming project needs.

What you will do

  • Inspect light rail, bus corridor, station, tunnel, elevated guideway, trackwork, and rail systems construction for conformance with contract documents, approved submittals, drawings, codes, and design standards.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports covering labor, equipment, materials, quantities, weather, delays, safety observations, and work locations.
  • Identify and document nonconforming work, material deficiencies, testing results, retests, and corrective actions through closure.
  • Verify delivered materials, witness sampling and testing, measure pay quantities, and document field conditions for progress payments and change reviews.
  • Monitor traffic control, work zone safety, environmental, and erosion and sediment control requirements.
  • Coordinate inspection coverage with resident engineers, construction management staff, contractors, design teams, utility owners, and third-party stakeholders; support punch lists, completion walkthroughs, and closeout documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering technology, civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of construction inspection experience on large, complex heavy-civil infrastructure projects valued above $500 million.
  • Inspection experience in at least one core discipline: civil and structural, building, electrical, mechanical, utility, roofing, or safety and security.
  • Experience preparing daily inspection reports, quantity records, and nonconformance documentation for publicly funded projects.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and request for information processes; experience with electronic field reporting and construction management software such as Unifier, Kahua, e-Builder, Procore, or Bluebeam.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete the required site safety orientation before working on the project site. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365 is also required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in construction management, engineering technology, or civil engineering.
  • WABO, ICC, ACI, CWI, NICET, WAQTC, state DOT, OSHA 30-hour, first aid and CPR, or traffic control certifications.
  • Experience with light rail, commuter rail, bus rapid transit, multiple inspection disciplines, or active rail operating environments.
  • Familiarity with Washington State public works documentation and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Cloud Analytics, or dashboard KPI reporting software.

Culture & Benefits

  • Unlimited flexible time off and paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • Flexible spending accounts and a 401(k) plan with a guaranteed employer contribution.
  • $2,500 annually for professional development, plus formal career planning and development.
  • Wellness stipend, nutrition support, financial planning, employee assistance, discounts, and referral bonus.

Hiring process

  • This is a future-roles talent-pool posting rather than an active project opening.
  • Applications and interviews are conducted in advance; selected candidates are notified first when a project need arises.
