Construction Engineering Inspector

Location: Eugene, Oregon, United States; onsite field position

Salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year. Hours worked beyond 40 per week are paid at time and a half.

What you will do

• Inspect, observe, and document construction activities for compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
• Evaluate excavations, drainage systems, road surfaces, structural components, and construction materials.
• Perform field measurements, mathematical calculations, material testing, and as-constructed sketches.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, track contractor production rates, and verify quantities for payment processes.
• Coordinate inspection and material testing activities with contractors, superintendents, agency personnel, and client partners.
• Support construction plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, bid documents, quantity takeoffs, change orders, RFIs, and final estimate packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Construction inspection experience; ODOT experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain required certifications and pass qualification tests within specified time frames; ability to work outdoors and lift up to 35 lbs.
