TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineer I (Production Support) (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Supporting and improving manufacturing systems for complex mechanical and electrical assemblies in ion implantation equipment with an accent on production tooling, documentation, process optimization, and cross-functional manufacturing support. Focus on root cause investigations, corrective actions, Lean and Six Sigma improvements, and resolving quality, supply chain, and production issues.

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States — 100% onsite. First shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; second shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. Travel of up to 25% may be required for contract manufacturing and supply chain support.

Salary: $66,691.37–$100,037.06 base salary per year, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits for regular employees working 20 or more hours per week.

What you will do

  • Support and continuously improve manufacturing systems for complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, including wire harnesses, robotic, pneumatic, vacuum, cooling, and high-pressure systems.
  • Provide daily production support for contract manufacturing assemblies and ion implanter system builds.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, assembly aids, and process improvements that enhance quality, manufacturability, ergonomics, safety, and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, standardized work, and assembly documentation.
  • Correct and maintain BOMs, routings, and engineering documentation while preserving design intent and form, fit, and function requirements.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions while collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations on NPI and engineering changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or DraftSight.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment such as calipers, hand tools, and digital multimeters.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, 3D CAD models, BOMs, and GD&T specifications.
  • Ability to work onsite in Beverly, Massachusetts, on either the first or second shift.
