Location: On-site at Covenant - St Joseph Healthcare in Bangor, Maine; limited to individuals residing and authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $18.00–$19.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

  • Perform patient admission, registration, and pre-registration activities for hospital services.
  • Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required Medicare, consent, observation, and patient education forms.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, and colleagues.
  • Audit accounts, maintain accurate documentation, and provide reporting data to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in Bangor, Maine.
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
  • CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
