AI-Native Java Full Stack Engineering Lead

What you will do

• Define the AI-native engineering vision, target workflows, tooling strategy, and adoption roadmap for Java full stack delivery.
• Lead the selection and integration of AI coding assistants, agentic development environments, automated code review, and AI-assisted testing with existing CI/CD, IDEs, and version control.
• Redesign the software development lifecycle to incorporate AI agents into requirements decomposition, coding, testing, review, refactoring, documentation, and incident triage.
• Build and lead an AI-native Java center of excellence with reusable prompt libraries, agent configurations, coding standards, and governance practices.
• Develop training and enablement programs for prompt engineering, agent supervision, and review of AI-generated code.
• Partner with delivery, account, security, compliance, and client stakeholders to pilot and scale AI-native delivery practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot or Spring Framework, and full stack development.
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership role, leading teams of 10+ engineers.
• Production experience integrating AI coding assistants or agentic tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or Amazon Q Developer.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native architecture, REST, microservices, relational and NoSQL databases, and Angular or React.
• Experience redesigning engineering processes or playbooks across multiple teams or a large program.
• Excellent communication skills for translating AI adoption strategy into business outcomes for engineering and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in a consulting or services environment delivering to external clients under contractual SLAs.
• Familiarity with LangChain, MCP, agent-to-agent protocols, and prompt engineering best practices.
• Experience establishing governance for AI-generated code, including security scanning, IP risk management, and model output validation.
