Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Define and drive scalable, secure technical architecture across multiple engineering teams.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging technologies and turn findings into adoption recommendations.
• Act as technical lead on large-scale engineering projects from discovery through delivery.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and hands-on engineering contribution.
• Partner with product, design, and platform engineering to align technical decisions with business and client outcomes.
• Establish engineering standards, reusable patterns, and best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex, large-scale systems.
• Experience leading architecture design and technical strategy across multiple teams or workstreams.
• Deep expertise in full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, and modern software engineering practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in matrixed, global environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, including large language models, agentic workflows, or spec-driven development.

Nice to have

• Experience leading technology proof-of-concept initiatives and translating exploration into production-ready solutions.
• Experience in capital markets, fintech, or other regulated industries.
