Sr Production Support HW Technician

Location: Onsite in Carlsbad, California, United States. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $36.54–$57.69 per hour. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $45.43–$68.03 per hour.

What you will do

• Support multiple production and next-generation networking communication product lines.
• Diagnose and repair complex digital hardware, including processors, memory, FPGAs, CPLDs, and microcontrollers, down to the component level.
• Identify rework needs, perform repairs and retesting, and support production and field issue resolution.
• Integrate and debug designs in the laboratory while collaborating with engineers on problem-solving tests.
• Perform design verification, environmental testing, board checkout, and component-change qualification.
• Set up and maintain test hardware, assemble custom fixtures, write test procedures, and document rework and debug instructions.

Requirements

• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret security clearance are required.
• Onsite work in Carlsbad, California is required.
• 15+ years of hardware repair or sustaining experience.
• Deep knowledge of production processes, common failure modes, embedded hardware debugging, and standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies.
• Experience using Windows and Linux, documenting technical findings, and working with MS Office.
• Strong prioritization, communication, collaboration, and independent problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Active security clearance.
• Familiarity with TCL, Perl, Python, or another scripting language.
• Experience debugging and diagnosing embedded design issues.
