Senior Staff Engineer - Product Validation (NVMe SSD)

What you will do

• Lead cross-platform system integration strategy for functional, stress, and interoperability validation of next-generation NVMe SSD products.
• Design scalable automation for NVMe functional tests, reset and boot flows, PCIe behavior, and telemetry/FTDC collection.
• Drive system-level triage by identifying failure domains, improving debug repeatability, and accelerating root-cause isolation.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, validation, tools, and architecture teams on design and release decisions.
• Improve test coverage efficiency, execution cycle time, platform readiness, and validation quality gates.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen system-level engineering practices.

Requirements

• BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in SSD validation, platform integration, or storage systems engineering.
• Deep expertise in NVMe command and administration flows, queues, error recovery, PCIe link behavior, LTSSM, training, ASPM, surprise/hot removal, and server-class BIOS/UEFI.
• Experience with Linux storage internals, including blk-mq, I/O schedulers, kernel logs, and Windows storage paths.
• Hands-on experience with fio, multithreaded stress patterns, and complex system workloads.
• Automation proficiency with Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Experience with ACPI, power and thermal states, crash dump flows, and debugging across firmware, drivers, operating systems, and system microcode.

Nice to have

• Ownership of system-level integration or interoperability validation for enterprise or cloud SSDs and server platforms.
• Knowledge of FTDC frameworks, telemetry analysis, automated root-cause workflows, or system-level coverage design.
• Familiarity with DPPM, escape metrics, validation KPIs, and system-level coverage modeling.
