Staff Engineer, Storage Business Enablement (SSD)

Location: Daily onsite presence at the San Jose headquarters, United States; 10% domestic travel.

Base pay: $152,000–$236,000 USD annually, with additional incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Build technical relationships with NeoCloud, storage software, AI infrastructure, hyperscaler, and related customers.
• Identify AI/ML storage use cases and convert customer requirements into SSD product and solution opportunities.
• Analyze GPU servers, AI clusters, distributed and disaggregated storage, NVMe, caching, tiering, KV Cache, and object storage architectures.
• Define SSD requirements covering capacity, performance, endurance, latency, power, form factor, PCIe generation, NAND type, and software or firmware features.
• Lead technical discussions, proof-of-concepts, evaluations, qualification, and design-in activities through mass production.
• Coordinate R&D, Product Marketing, Sales, Application Engineering, and Business teams while developing proposals, benchmarks, architecture analyses, and business cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, with 10+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in SSD, NAND, storage systems, servers, data centers, semiconductors, or related technology industries.
• Strong knowledge of NVMe SSDs, NAND Flash, PCIe, and modern data center storage architectures.
• Experience with hyperscalers, NeoCloud providers, server OEMs/ODMs, storage vendors, or storage software companies.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles involving presentations, PoCs, evaluations, and design-in activities.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, system-level thinking, business, and cross-functional leadership skills.
