Hardware Engineer - MTS3 (Storage)

Location: Santa Clara, California; primarily in-office work is required.

Annual base salary: $149,000–$224,000 USD, with potential incentive pay and equity.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end hardware qualification with hyperscale customers and ODM/JDM partners.
• Automate validation projects and ensure production readiness, signal integrity, and long-term reliability.
• Perform root-cause analysis and debug electrical, thermal, protocol, and firmware-hardware interaction issues.
• Review PCIe, Ethernet, and serial bus interfaces and evaluate thermal cooling trade-offs.
• Partner with software, operations, manufacturing, and engineering teams to productize storage technologies.
• Develop automated qualification frameworks, improve test workflows, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Experience qualifying complex server, storage, or accelerated computing platforms at electrical, protocol, and functional levels.
• Expertise in high-speed signal analysis using oscilloscopes and bus analyzers.
• Understanding of system thermal dynamics, NVMe drives, and power distribution architectures.
• Experience with OS/kernel-level hardware debugging and system firmware including BIOS and BMC.
• Ability to build and scale automated hardware validation test beds using Python or Bash.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for technical leadership with customers, manufacturing partners, and internal teams.
