Process Engineer III (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: United States; nearest major market San Francisco and nearest secondary market Oakland

Base salary: $95,406–$143,108 per year, plus a performance-related bonus plan

What you will do

• Monitor critical manufacturing processes and Statistical Process Control activities, including production quality, cycle time, EHS compliance, and adherence to documented work practices.
• Investigate out-of-control products and failures, determine root causes, manage assigned Nonconforming Material Reports, and drive corrective actions through timely closure.
• Write and update work instructions and support pilot-to-full-scale manufacturing transitions through process documentation, batch validation, and operator training.
• Lead process engineering capital projects and troubleshoot process equipment issues.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Production on equipment repairs and process changes under Management of Change procedures.
• Support plant EHS activities and coordinate equipment and instrumentation calibration programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5–8 years of related process engineering experience preferred, including more than 3 years in chemical synthesis, preferably in batch operations.
• Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, with strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, collaborate across departments, and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, basic process control, pumps, piping systems, control valves, mixers, solids handling, and environmental control equipment.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
