Location: Austin, United States; on-site

Annual salary: $165,000–$220,000, plus equity.

hirify.global is an early-stage hardware startup developing semiconductor hardware, software, fabrication tools, components, and in-house manufacturing processes.

What you will do

  • Design and run laboratory experiments for semiconductor, etching, and thin-film fabrication methods.
  • Read academic papers and technical literature to guide experimental design and iterate on new process concepts.
  • Operate etch, deposition, lithography, and metrology systems.
  • Develop, transfer, and optimize process recipes across platforms, focusing on consistency, yield, and throughput.
  • Analyze process data, troubleshoot recipe and equipment issues, and document findings for the engineering team.
  • Contribute to novel R&D processes and influence semiconductor tool design.

Requirements

  • PhD plus 10 years of experience, or equivalent experience, developing nanofabrication processes and device flows and mentoring technical teams.
  • Experience operating dry etch, thin-film deposition, and lithography tools.
  • Hands-on cleanroom experience with multi-step fabrication flows.
  • Experience developing and optimizing recipes for dry etch, thin-film deposition, or lithography.
  • Familiarity with ellipsometry, profilometry, SEM, and related metrology methods.
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin and comply with U.S. export controls is required.

Nice to have

  • Mechanical or maintenance experience with fabrication tools.
  • Full device-flow experience.
