Director, LTL Services

Location: Remote within the United States; some travel required. Full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility based on coverage.

Salary: $110,000–$115,000 per year, plus eligibility for annual performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Oversee and optimize LTL operations and manage approximately $400 million in LTL spend.
• Build carrier partnerships, resolve disputes, and manage service agreements.
• Improve routing, consolidation, scheduling, and operational workflows.
• Drive strategic sourcing, rate negotiation, cost savings, and service optimization initiatives.
• Analyze performance data, identify trends, and present LTL reports to senior management.
• Lead and develop LTL specialists while collaborating with operations, finance, and IT.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in LTL transportation, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing large-scale LTL spend, ideally $100 million or more.
• Strong knowledge of LTL carrier networks, pricing models, regulations, and market dynamics.
• Ability to analyze complex data and implement strategic initiatives.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems and experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
