Senior Underwriter, Regional Lead – Hiscox Underwriting Center (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Manhattan, Scottsdale, or West Hartford; two office days required weekly

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 annually, plus performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a regional team of underwriters.
• Underwrite, price, and negotiate accounts in line with risk quality, product strategies, and underwriting guidelines.
• Manage relationships with regional brokers and collaborate with underwriters across US offices.
• Identify underperforming brokers and renewal books and drive portfolio improvements.
• Achieve production targets and maintain profitable underwriting results.
• Serve as an escalation point for personnel and underwriting concerns.

Requirements

• Experience leading, motivating, and developing underwriting teams.
• In-depth knowledge of underwriting policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Advanced risk assessment, business needs assessment, and pricing knowledge.
• Knowledge of broker performance variables and the ability to respond effectively.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, decision-making, and commercial judgment.
