Annual salary: $89,170–$148,650 USD

What you will do

• Independently underwrite complex group insurance applications and approve cases up to 10,000 lives.
• Evaluate client financial condition, employee-group characteristics, participation, industry, and claims experience to determine benefits, rates, pricing, and funding methods.
• Coordinate underwriting for proposals, new cases, renewals, and amendments while confirming that benefit plan designs can be administered.
• Guide lower-level group underwriters, provide work direction, contribute input to performance reviews, and review cases exceeding their authority levels.
• Analyze client profitability, expenses, and product-line performance to support division profitability.
• Build relationships with field personnel and clients, contribute to product enhancements, and participate in regional marketing rollouts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6–8 years of underwriting experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
