Technology, AI and Innovation Attorney – Assistant General Counsel/Director (AI)

Location: Hybrid; three days onsite each week in Bethesda, MD, New York, NY, or Cleveland, OH

Annual salary: $159,900–$280,850

What you will do

• Advise on legal and regulatory considerations throughout the technology product and AI system lifecycle.
• Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of technology, AI, digital, and innovation initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate risks involving artificial intelligence, privacy, data use, consumer protection, and emerging technologies.
• Advise on hirify.global’s AI governance framework and provide training on AI risk management and responsible AI use.
• Monitor technology and AI legislation and regulations, including potential effects on the organization and advocacy opportunities.
• Support technology vendor onboarding, oversight, and contract interpretation.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 5 years focused on technology and AI matters.
• Understanding of U.S. federal and state technology, digitalization, artificial intelligence, data protection, and information-use laws.
• Familiarity with AI governance and regulatory frameworks such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, EU AI Act, and NAIC Model AI Bulletin.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to business and technology stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
• New employment authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
