Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration (HVAC/R)

Location: Abingdon, Maryland, United States; on-site facility work

Salary: $32.00–$64.00 per hour, plus possible premiums and bonus incentives

What you will do

• Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment and related facility assets.
• Use hand tools, power tools, digital tools, and testing equipment to complete maintenance work.
• Receive and manage repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document completed activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and diagnose issues by inspecting, operating, and testing equipment.
• Complete required safety training and follow OSHA, EPA, and Walmart refrigeration HVAC procedures.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work frequently at heights.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance experience, including large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Either a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification with 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant mechanical maintenance or construction experience.
• Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman credentials may be required where applicable.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the role is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and office software.
