TL;DR

Salary: $110,000–$220,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation

What you will do

  • Develop and own technical specifications, installation standards, inspection criteria, commissioning requirements, documentation standards, and operational turnover requirements.
  • Translate electrical and mechanical engineering requirements into field guidance, checklists, acceptance criteria, and scopes of work.
  • Conduct site visits during construction, installation, commissioning, and turnover to validate safety, quality, workmanship, and compliance.
  • Identify field issues, recurring defects, and execution risks, coordinating resolutions with engineering, construction, contractors, vendors, and other partners.
  • Incorporate field lessons learned, technology changes, and operational feedback into standards, designs, and deployment processes.
  • Establish quality metrics, vendor accountability measures, and feedback mechanisms to improve consistency and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, energy management, or a related area.
  • At least 6 years of experience in energy or power systems engineering.
  • Experience with complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure, construction, installation, commissioning, or operations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment requirements, scopes of work, and technical standards.
  • Experience developing or enforcing installation, quality, inspection, commissioning, or operational-readiness requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% to active deployment sites.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with energy modeling software such as Energy+, PVsyst, Xendee, Helioscope, or Energy Toolbase.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, energy management, or a related area.
  • Supervisory experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
