Senior Director Walmart Energy

Location: USA, Bentonville Home Office

Salary: $130,000–$260,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Develop and execute hirify.global’s long-term onsite energy strategy across U.S. stores, Sam’s Clubs, and supply chain facilities.
• Lead portfolio development across solar, battery energy storage systems, generators, microgrids, and emerging distributed energy technologies.
• Oversee project origination, business cases, engineering, execution, governance, capital approvals, and long-range financial planning.
• Build and lead high-performing teams while managing developers, EPCs, technology providers, contracts, and commercial partnerships.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and translate energy markets, technologies, policies, and business models into scalable investment strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, business, finance, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in utility operations or a related area, including experience developing and executing commercial and industrial energy projects.
• Direct experience with solar and BESS projects; experience with microgrids, generators, or other distributed energy resources is preferred.
• Experience across project development, economics, engineering, construction, commercial structuring, execution, and the full energy project lifecycle.
• Strong commercial acumen, including negotiating complex contracts, evaluating risk, and working with developers, EPC providers, and technology partners.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience and the ability to lead complex initiatives and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.

Nice to have

• Certified Energy Manager certification.
• Experience in building systems design, controls, or operations.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, business, finance, or a related field.
• Project management certification or project management experience.
