Automotive Senior Technician

Location: 012610 Mt Pleasant, United States; onsite retail service location

Salary: $19.57–$31.63 under a performance-based flat-rate compensation model

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers and other non-mechanical individuals.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Maintain current automotive knowledge through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skills in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• General automotive maintenance and tire repair skills.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment eligibility verification through Form I-9 is required; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, relevant third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
