Automotive Senior Technician

Location: Midland, United States; onsite retail service position

Salary: $21.63–$31.55 per hour through a performance-based flat-rate compensation model

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers and other non-technical people.
• Assist with and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Complete paid formal training to stay current with changing automotive technology.
• Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least three areas from A1–A8 within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated expertise in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current applicable federal, state, and local certifications or licenses.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, plus reading, writing, and math skills.
• Preferred: three years of automotive repair experience, vocational-technical training, or relevant third-party certifications; A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area is also preferred.
