Automotive Technician B Tech

Location: 244185 Merle Hay; on-site automotive service role in the United States

Pay range: $19.57–$33.47 per hour under a performance-based flat-rate compensation model. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for first-time hires.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and tire repairs to specification.
• Explain technical diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers without mechanical expertise.
• Assist with and train other technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Maintain current automotive knowledge through paid formal training.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certification in at least three A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Valid automobile driver's license and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated skill in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and wheel alignment.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, plus reading, writing, and math skills.
• Employment requires completion of Form I-9 verification; temporary work authorization or a need for sponsorship may disqualify applicants.

Nice to have

• Three years of automotive repair experience, relevant third-party assessments or certifications, or completion of a vocational-technical program.
• ASE certification in at least one A1–A8 area; L1 certification is acceptable.
