Automotive Senior Technician

Location: Owensboro, United States; onsite retail automotive service role.

Salary: $18.54–$30.76 per hour; flat-rate, performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air-conditioning, and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers without mechanical backgrounds.
• Keep current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Assist and train technicians and mechanics on technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least three of the A1–A8 areas within the first two years.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid automobile driver's license and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.
• Demonstrated expertise in brake and hydraulic systems and/or steering, suspension, and alignments.
• Experience with general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
• Current federal, state, and local certifications or licenses where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people, with reading, writing, and math skills.
• Preferred: three years of automotive repair experience, a vocational-technical program, or third-party certifications; A.S.E. certification in at least one A1–A8 area or L1 certification is also preferred.
