Mid-Level AI Engineer

Location: On-site in San Francisco, California, United States; candidates must work on-site or relocate

Salary: $180,000–$400,000 USD annually, plus equity

hirify.global is an early-stage AI startup building talent and recruitment products for complex enterprise and regulated-domain workflows.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain agentic systems that automate multi-step workflows across healthcare, legal, fintech, logistics, and compliance.
• Own production RAG pipelines and retrieval infrastructure, including vector databases, embeddings, and domain-specific indexing.
• Implement multi-agent orchestration, tool calling, memory, and reasoning components.
• Develop evaluation and safety infrastructure to measure model performance, detect regressions, and enforce enterprise reliability.
• Ship full-stack AI products from MVP to enterprise-grade, including APIs, data models, frontend and backend code, CI/CD, monitoring, and testing.
• Collaborate with product and design stakeholders to define success metrics and iterate using user feedback and telemetry.

Requirements

• 2–8 years of software engineering experience with shipped user-facing or backend products.
• Production experience deploying LLM-based services, including prompt design, orchestration, and tool integration.
• Full-stack proficiency in Python and TypeScript/React or equivalent, plus AWS or GCP and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of RAG patterns, vector databases, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, automated testing, evaluations, and AI-system monitoring.
• Experience with agent or workflow frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI and orchestration tools such as Temporal or Trigger.
• Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco or relocate; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with fine-tuning, parameter-efficient tuning, or multimodal model integration.
• Background building multi-tenant or enterprise-ready systems or working in healthcare, fintech, legal, or another regulated industry.
• Experience designing API-driven, high-throughput systems and real-time product features.
• Startup operating experience and comfort in a cross-functional, high-ownership environment.
