Commodity Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, United States; office-based with regular interaction in manufacturing environments and supplier locations. Up to 50% domestic and international travel is required, and the ability to obtain a passport is required.

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business priorities and long-term objectives.
• Drive cost savings, value creation, process improvements, and supply chain resiliency across assigned commodity categories.
• Lead negotiations covering contracts, pricing, lead times, payment terms, and Incoterms.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, scorecards, supplier performance, and new supplier onboarding.
• Partner with Product Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering on materials, process improvements, and cost reduction.
• Monitor procurement metrics and present monthly updates on financial results, supplier performance, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, or category management experience.
• Proven experience managing suppliers, leading negotiations, and delivering business results.
• Strong strategic sourcing, category management, contract management, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and procurement processes.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; ability to obtain a passport for required travel.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional certification such as CSCP, CPIM, CPM, or Lean Six Sigma.
