Global Commodity Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Elizabethtown, North Carolina, United States; travel up to 20% to assess, develop, and manage domestic and global sources of supply.

Salary: $91,700–$170,100 per year in local currency.

What you will do

• Develop and execute global commodity strategies covering cost, quality, delivery, innovation, supplier capability, and total value.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification through supplier selection, negotiation, implementation, and results realization.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, supplier economics, commodity trends, demand, tariffs, and geopolitical risks to identify opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
• Manage supplier performance through segmentation, scorecards, business reviews, corrective actions, development plans, and escalations.
• Build productivity initiatives including PPV, VAVE, negotiations, should-cost analysis, make-or-buy decisions, supplier consolidation, and low-cost-region sourcing.
• Lead cross-functional sourcing, supplier improvement, supply continuity, and risk mitigation initiatives with operations, engineering, quality, materials, and finance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in procurement, commodity management, or strategic sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing global sourcing strategies and leading supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, sourcing transitions, and supplier performance improvements.
• Management experience leading, coaching, and developing individuals or cross-functional project teams.
• Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing; experience with Oracle, JDE, SAP, or similar systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Advanced experience with Power BI, spend analytics, or data visualization tools.
• MBA or ISM certification such as CPSM.
