Personal Financial Counselor (Military Financial Services)

Location: OCONUS - USAG Rheinland-Pfalz-Baumholder, Germany; onsite at a military installation

Salary: $58,440–$93,500 per year

What you will do

• Provide personal financial counseling and financial management services to military service members and their families.
• Help service members create spending plans for extended absences and provide financial education materials.
• Coordinate and deliver personal financial management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle, including arrival, deployment, and career events.
• Provide individual consultations, leadership briefings, referrals, and age-appropriate seminars.
• Use approved virtual counseling, secure online chat, video communication, and teleconference tools when authorized.
• Coordinate with installation and military branch points of contact, follow DoD duty-to-warn protocols, and participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree plus 4 years of experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered instead.
• At least 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Valid in-state driver’s license required. English and Spanish bilingual ability may be required by the contract.
