Capital Markets Intern (Fintech)

Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, London, or Berlin for the internship. Distributed-first approach with co-working options.

What you will do

• Support the daily operation of structured finance facilities with the Capital Markets Operations Manager and Head of Capital Markets.
• Calculate liquidity availability, lender interest, fees, accruals, and payments across facilities.
• Prepare drawdown requests, invoices, facility documentation, note registers, and audit schedules.
• Support reconciliations, VAT analysis, payment administration, and the resolution of discrepancies across facility and cash accounts.
• Contribute to financial modelling, scenario analysis, automation initiatives, and financial projections.
• Prepare analysis and diligence materials for lenders and development finance institutions and coordinate with Tech and Commercial stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with large and complex datasets and develop actionable recommendations.
• Project management skills and proficiency in preparing reports, visualisations, and presentations.
• Confident and professional communication with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Fast learning, structured problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in financial services, banking, asset management, fintech, or consulting.
