Mechanical Engineer III (HVAC)

Location: Hybrid in Pleasanton, California, serving the San Francisco area; travel may be required for client and project development.

Salary: $95,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Own equipment modules and packages through design, procurement, supplier development, manufacturing, and testing.
• Prepare data sheets, material requisitions, enquiry packages, technical specifications, bid evaluations, and equipment schedules.
• Develop HVAC, plant and process utilities, plumbing, compressed gas, piping, and building management system designs.
• Produce P&IDs, calculations, reports, construction drawings, airflow and pressurization plans, and utility consumption summaries.
• Coordinate clients, vendors, contractors, internal disciplines, and design teams while leading technical reviews.
• Support construction through submittal reviews, RFI responses, site visits, and verification of construction against design intent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of mechanical design experience in a design firm setting, preferably in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or cell and gene therapy projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plant utilities, plumbing, compressed gas systems, mechanical codes, and industry standards.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, including the ability to lead technical reviews with clients and suppliers.
• FE registration, progress toward, or possession of PE licensure is strongly preferred; knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with HAP energy modeling software.
• Pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, cell and gene therapy, or GMP manufacturing experience.
• FE registration or PE licensure.
