Staff M365 Engineer (Microsoft 365)

What you will do

• Architect, engineer, and evolve enterprise Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Copilot.
• Establish security, compliance, governance, and access controls covering Microsoft Purview, DLP, retention, eDiscovery, Defender for Office 365, guest access, PIM, and RBAC.
• Plan, implement, and support the migration from Zoom to Microsoft Teams.
• Design secure integrations with Entra ID, IAM platforms, third-party SaaS, and enterprise systems.
• Drive automation, monitoring, incident response, service health, change management, and operational reliability using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, and infrastructure-as-code patterns.
• Lead secure Copilot enablement, adoption strategies, extensibility patterns, and technical mentoring for engineers and administrators.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States; the role is remote.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise collaboration or workplace engineering and 5+ years of deep Microsoft 365 experience.
• Expertise in Exchange Online, SharePoint Online/OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and Teams Phone or voice, with Direct Routing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Entra ID/Azure AD, identity and access management, Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, RBAC, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and automation tooling.
• Experience supporting large, regulated enterprise environments, including migrations, security, compliance, monitoring, and incident management.
• Supervisory responsibilities include mentoring engineers and administrators and providing architectural guidance.

Nice to have

• Experience enabling and governing Microsoft 365 Copilot and Power Platform at scale.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management, device compliance, and MDM/MAM concepts.
• Background in financial services, insurance, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust security patterns and tenant-to-tenant consolidation.
• Microsoft MS-102, SC-300, or equivalent certification.
