TL;DR
Acquisition Security & Privacy Analyst (Cybersecurity): Reviewing technology acquisitions, cloud services, SaaS offerings, and AI-enabled technologies for federal security, privacy, and compliance requirements with an accent on privacy documentation, procurement governance, and risk assessment. Focus on developing PIAs and PTAs, supporting incident remediation and security authorization activities, and coordinating compliance across acquisition teams, system owners, and federal stakeholders.

Location: Bethesda, Maryland, United States

Salary: $115,000–$125,000 yearly

What you will do

  • Review IT acquisitions, software purchases, cloud services, SaaS offerings, AI-enabled technologies, and third-party solutions for security and privacy considerations.
  • Evaluate procurement packages and identify applicable security, privacy, compliance, and regulatory clauses.
  • Track, document, and support remediation of privacy incidents involving personally identifiable information and sensitive data.
  • Coordinate with acquisition teams, CORs, ISSOs, system owners, cybersecurity personnel, privacy officials, and federal leadership.
  • Support security authorization, vendor risk assessment, governance, and process improvement activities.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and related compliance documentation.

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience assessing IT acquisitions, cloud services, SaaS offerings, AI-enabled technologies, and software procurements.
  • Experience supporting the Privacy Act, E-Government Act, HIPAA, HHS privacy requirements, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and federal compliance frameworks.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy Threshold Analyses, System of Record Notices, Privacy Act Statements, and Privacy Notices.
  • Experience supporting privacy incident response or vendor risk assessments, with strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and coordination skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with FedRAMP and cloud security concepts.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365, and compliance tracking tools.
