Senior DevOps / Systems Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote, based in the UK. Participation in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule is required, currently two weeks in every four.

Salary: £70,000–£80,000 per annum, plus benefits.

hirify.global is recruiting for a growing technology business strengthening its engineering function.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and develop AWS production infrastructure and platform services.
• Build and optimise cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible.
• Manage CDN and Web Application Firewall solutions across Akamai and Cloudflare.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure services including nginx, Redis, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Use monitoring and observability platforms to identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Lead production incident investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or systems administration.
• Extensive hands-on Linux administration experience in live production environments.
• Strong AWS knowledge, including EC2, VPCs, load balancing, and cloud architecture.
• Experience with Terraform, Python, Bash, CI/CD, nginx, Apache, Redis, and relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS.
• Experience supporting OpenSearch or Elasticsearch and managing CDN/WAF technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, collaboration, and production incident response skills.
