Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Location: Based in Madrid, with home office available anywhere in Spain; frequent travel to France and occasional travel to physical datacenters required.

Total compensation: €65,000–€75,000 annually, including base and variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS and on-premise datacenters.
• Lead hybrid cloud architecture, cloud-to-datacenter connectivity, migration, and workload modernization initiatives.
• Manage AWS services, Linux and Windows platforms, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Implement infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational tooling.
• Drive infrastructure governance, security, compliance, architecture reviews, and long-term technical strategy.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, DevOps, and Software Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Residence in Madrid is required, with availability for travel to physical datacenters and France.
• English at B2 or higher and Spanish at C1 or higher are mandatory.
• At least 5 years of hands-on systems and infrastructure engineering experience, including 2+ years in production cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Experience designing and operating hybrid cloud architectures, with hands-on AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Route 53, ELB/ALB, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, and VPC Peering.
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, virtualization platforms, datacenter hardware, networking, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.
• Basic production experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters, plus strong architectural, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with EKS, ECS, CloudFront, Cloudflare, AWS governance and observability services, Terraform, CloudFormation, Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions.
• Experience with NetApp storage, SAN/NAS, backup and replication, bare-metal Kubernetes, Docker, Containerd, firewalls, and WAF solutions.
• Experience with Python, Bash, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize, CI/CD platforms, monitoring tools, GitOps, and multi-cloud environments.
• AWS or Kubernetes certifications, and knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
