Senior Solution Architect (Cloud)

Location: Fully remote; residence in Europe or Latin America required

What you will do

• Design end-to-end architectures for enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and distributed backend systems.
• Define services, APIs, integrations, data stores, event-driven architectures, and streaming data flows.
• Establish approaches to CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, security, reliability, and operational readiness.
• Lead architecture and design reviews, document trade-offs, select technologies, and mentor engineering teams.
• Partner with client stakeholders and backend, data, frontend, and DevOps engineers to shape and deliver technical solutions.
• Guide modernization and migration of legacy systems and contribute to architectural standards and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or backend architecture, including 5+ years in architecture or senior technical leadership.
• Strong experience designing large-scale, production-grade systems with microservices, distributed systems, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Programming experience in Python, Java, C#, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data pipelines, relational and non-relational data stores, security, performance, observability, and cost optimization.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills; residence in Europe or Latin America required. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is also required.

Nice to have

• Client-facing consulting or professional services experience, including pre-sales solution shaping, technical proposals, and delivery estimation.
• Experience modernizing or replatforming legacy systems in large enterprises.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform or Pulumi and platform engineering experience.
• Experience with regulatory or compliance constraints such as SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, or PCI DSS.
• High-throughput or low-latency systems experience, systems-level engineering, or relevant cloud architecture certifications.
