Space Safety System Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Bremen, Germany; flexible hybrid arrangement balancing remote and on-site work

What you will do

• Contribute to in-orbit servicing, active debris removal, rendezvous and docking missions and related applications.
• Analyse customer, mission, and system requirements and decompose them across platform and subsystem levels using DOORS and Polarion.
• Support mission design, system architecture, subsystem definition, trade-off analyses, and technical specifications.
• Manage system-level engineering budgets, interfaces, requirement compliance, design changes, deviations, and non-conformances.
• Coordinate technical activities across subsystems and subcontractors while supporting the Project Chief Engineer and Project Management.
• Prepare system engineering reviews, verification plans, test procedures, technical reports, project documentation, proposals, and bids.

Requirements

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• Several years of experience in Systems Engineering, ideally in the space industry or another high-tech environment.
• Experience across the engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, specification development, system architecture, and interface management.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate with diverse technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English is essential.

Nice to have

• Experience in Guidance, Navigation & Control and Rendezvous & Docking.
• German language skills.
